Mark has been my daughter's Occupational Therapist for 8 months. My daughter has seizure disorder and suffers from severe developmental delays. Since Mark became her OT, she has gradually improved her fine motor skills. Mark shows my daughter techniques that improve her way of life. As a result, she can grab an object intentionally and hold on to objects for a much longer period of time. She can even transfer an object from one hand to the other. Besides working on her fine motor skills, Mark also exercises her body to improve her trunk strength. She can sit for up to one minute with minimal support now. Mark also tries to stand her up so she can gain more leg muscle strength. Mark also recommends various exercises that we can do to help our daughter. We feel so encouraged about my daughter's improvement and are very pleased with Mark's professional service. He is a caring OT that really makes a difference in our daughter’s life.

My son, Tom, is 31 years old and was injured in an auto accident 13 years ago. He has a traumatic brain injury. He was in the hospital for 8 1/2 months in a vegetative state. He had a tracheostomy and a feeding tube. We were told that his case was hopeless and to put him in a nursing home. This was not an option for us. About a year ago, I saw a computer presentation by a father I knew whose son was Mark Wedell's patient. I was amazed to see this little brain injured boy do so much. I then asked Mark to see Tommy. Under Mark's care, Tom has been able to stand now against the wall unsupported. He has him kneeling on the floor which puts weight on both his legs. He works with him with rolling and balance. Since Tom has a left sided weakness these are all good exercises which will help prevent osteoporosis. It is my hope that Tom will continue to make progress under Mark's excellent care.

Mark Wedell has been the Occupational Therapist for my 2yr. old son Michael since he was 3 weeks old.  During this time Mark has become an integral part of Michael's team of therapists.  His knowledge about sensory integration issues and fine motor planning have been a tremendously useful tool in helping my son. Mark is always willing to sit and discuss any concerns that have come about as well as provide strategies and tips for dealing with a child with disabilities. He brings current literature and research to share, which is something I have found very valuable.  His techniques keep my son engaged and learning, which has contributed greatly to Michael's achievements. I believe that without Mark's intervention, my son would not be meeting his milestones with the success that he has.
